Why Do We Need English?
English Language Arts is the most important class you will ever take! Really, it’s true!
The art of writing and speaking well is foundational to communication in all other subjects, the number one attribute that employers seek, and critical to good relationships. The ability to reason and organize thoughts effectively transforms available data into powerful ideas that can potentially change our world for the better. This is a tool we can use!

Reading makes us smarter! Additionally, reading improves memory and even increases our ability to see life from another’s point of view. The best reading “picks” come from the great masters of classical literature and plucking the best flowers of contemporary authorship. Our civilization’s vast repertoire of literature informs our minds, enriches our thoughts, allows us to build our lives, and scaffolds the elevation of human culture.

Words have been here since time eternal! “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (John 1:1). God spoke our world into existence. Psalm 33:9 declares, “For He spoke, and it came into being…” Let us discover and speak God’s truth into our collective lives using the creativity He has given to us as image-bearers.
